Umbrella Bamboo
Fargesia murieliae
This is an excellent variety forming a dense clump of striking, yellow-green, gracefully arching canes which become clothed in masses of soft, mid-green leaves. Perfect for growing as an informal hedge or using to add a sense of scale in Japanese gardens, it has an exotic appearance with a robust, yet non-invasive, growth habit. It’s also suitable for growing in a container where the restriction of the roots will help control the amount of upper growth. A popular, versatile variety that’s tolerant of shade and responds well to feeding and watering.
