Spurge
Euphorbia characias
Large, dome-shaped, lime-yellow flowers are produced on towering spikes high above the foliage from March to May. This is a stunning, architectural, evergreen perennial with smooth, upright, purplish-green stems that are well foliated with attractive, fleshy, blue-green leaves. Combining well with the bright red and orange blooms of kniphorbias, it’s perfect for adding a touch of drama to the border and makes a great plant for incorporating into herbaceous or contemporary plantings. Growth can be rejuvenated by either cutting it back hard or lifting and dividing congested colonies every few years in late autumn or early spring

Garden Care:
We recommend that you wear gloves when handling spurges as the thick, white sap is a poisonous and potential irritant. Incorporate lots of well-rotted organic matter into the backfill when planting. Apply generous well rotted organic mulch in early spring and keep well-watered during periods of dry weather. Please Note: Many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means that there is little or no top growth apparent between November and March. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in spring. In the dormant period, we may not have stocks of all varieties in all pot sizes and therefore reserve the right to supply 9cm pots instead of 2 litre and adjust the price accordingly.
