Heather
Erica darleyensis J. W. Porter
This is a spreading, compact evergreen shrub with stiff, needle-like, dark green foliage that displays beautiful cream and red growing tips in the spring. It produces an abundance of rich, mauve-pink, urn-shaped flowers in fabulous clusters which clothe the plant sporadically from January to May. Perfect for using as groundcover, low-maintenance edging or a rockery plant, it also looks great in the cottage garden or a container where its informal appearance can help naturalise any part of the garden.
