Coneflower
Echinacea purpurea
Giant, daisy-like, rich lilac-pink blooms with reddish-brown, pincushion centres and elongated petals that gently arch towards the ground. This is an outstanding perennial with a vigorous, upright, branching growth habit and finely-toothed, dark green leaves. The colourful centres of the blooms fill out into large, attractive, burned-orange cones as the petals drop away. Perfect for the middle of a sunny, mixed or herbaceous border, it combines well with late summer flowering perennials and ornamental grasses. It’s also widely used in medicine and has been proven to strengthen the body’s immune system. The flowers attract bees and butterflies to the garden and are excellent for cutting.

Please Note: Many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means that there is little or no top growth apparent between November and March. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in spring. In the dormant period, we may not have stocks of all varieties in all pot sizes and therefore reserve the right to supply 9cm pots instead of 2 litre and adjust the price accordingly.
