Broom
Cytisus Goldfinch
This is a small, rounded shrub which produces crimson and yellow pea-like flowers which resemble the colours of a goldfinch’s plumage. Absolutely stunning in full flower when grown in full sun it will succeed in poor, sandy soils, pruned back after flowering.

Whippy stems and tiny leaves which are completely clothed with flowers in late spring and early summer

Garden Care:
After flowering cut back the stems which have borne blooms to about half their length. Never cut into the old wood.
