Montbretia
Crocosmia Lucifer
Fiery, paprika red, funnel-shaped flowers with orange-yellow throats flare out along arching, dark bronze-green stems between August and September. This is a stunning, early hybrid which forms dense clumps of pleated, mid-green, sword-shaped leaves that provide a perfect backdrop to the flowers. Perfect for creating a dramatic impact and adding brilliance to any garden setting, it looks great when incorporated into a herbaceous or mixed border and makes excellent cut flowers. Growing from small, underground swollen stems called corms, it can be lifted and divided every three to five years if required.

Incorporate lots of well-rotted organic matter into the backfill when planting. Apply generous well rotted organic mulch in early spring and keep well-watered during periods of dry weather. Please Note: Many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means that there is little or no top growth apparent between November and March. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in spring. In the dormant period, we may not have stocks of all varieties in all pot sizes and therefore reserve the right to supply 9cm pots instead of 2 litre and adjust the price accordingly.
