Smoke Bush
Cotinus coggygria Golden Spirit
A stunning new variety of smoke bush with rich, golden-yellow leaves that take on brilliant shades of coral-red, orange and yellow in the autumn. The deciduous foliage opens soft-gold; gradually brightening to lime-yellow by the summer when the leaves take on a wonderful translucent property. It fits in well with all sorts of planting schemes and makes an excellent specimen plant for a sunny spot of the garden. Its dense growth habit and long, feathery racemes of pale pink flowers also make it suitable for growing as an attractive, flowering hedge.
