Dogwood
Cornus alba Elegantissima
The Cornus Alba Elegantissima is a vigorous upright shrub which is a very good value plant for home gardens. It has very attractive cream-green variegated leaves in summer and in autumn the leaves turn reddish-orange before they drop. In winter its bright red stems bring a welcome dash of colour - making this a very good deciduous plant to choose for year round interest. It prefers a position in full sun or partial shade in a moist, heavy soil (it will thrive in clay soils). This plant is very easy to grow and is ideal for wet areas of gardens, particularly areas with heavy soil.
