Clematis Montana Rubens
This variety produces pale pink satin blooms in May and June. The flower has a light green and yellow heart. Bronzed young foliage matures to light green. It looks beautiful when used to cover substantial buildings or sturdy fences.

Garden Care:
Apply a generous mulch of well-rotted garden compost around the base of the plant and use a slow-release fertiliser such as Osmocote in early spring. Although no routine pruning is required you may wish to restrict the spread of the plant by cutting it back lightly immediately after flowering, pruning back straggling shoots to a healthy bud. Some protection from cold winter weather is required.
