Rose Rock
Cistus Corbariensis
This evergreen variety is one of the two hardiest cistuses. It bears single white flowers with yellow centres which are borne from rosy-pink buds in June. At the end of each day, all of the petals on all of the flowers fall off and a whole new crop opens every morning. In this way, the plant always looks neat and tidy without any effort. In summer the dark green foliage can give off a pleasant resinous scent, and in winter it takes on striking reddish, coppery, or purplish tones. It is exceptionally drought tolerant and good for protecting and holding slopes and banks. Once established, it will also block most weed growth.
