False Cypress
Chamaecyparis obtusa Nana Aurea
This is a broadly upright, dwarf, evergreen conifer which grows as broad as it does tall. An irregular, open growth habit of slightly pendulous foliage gives it a unique appeal whilst cupped sprays of bright; golden-yellow new growth provides a vibrant flush of colour to the garden during the growing season. Young leaves darken slightly to a yellowish-green as they mature. A moist, yet well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic soil is for it to succeed.
