False Cypress
Chamaecyparis lawsoniana Ivonne
This is a strong-growing, evergreen conifer which produces striking, lemon-yellow new growth which matures to yellow-green with age. It is a fully upright form with a columnar growth habit that makes an attractive individual specimen plant. By planting 60cm apart, it can also be used to form a nice hedge. If ‘Ivonne’ is your chosen hedging plant it will quickly form a dense screen which is ideal for providing privacy or just some protection from strong winds. The attractively coloured foliage is tolerant of strong winds and city pollution, and responds well to trimming. Left to its own devices, it will grow out to a medium-sized tree with a pin form crown.
