False Cypress
Chamaecyparis lawsoniana Columnaris
This is a narrow, upright conifer that forms a neat column of aromatic, blue-grey foliage. It is an attractive grower which will tolerate poor soil and some clipping. Can be used to form an excellent screening hedge or, alternatively, as an effective small specimen tree. It is fully frost hardy and has a maximum height of up to 10 metres.
