Californian Lilac
Ceanothus Blue Cushion
This is a handsome form of Californian Lilac which produces a cushion of beautiful, fluffy, bright blue flowers which are borne in clusters between August and September. These are produced above a compact mass of shiny, evergreen, mid-green leaves. The small size of the foliage helps the plant to withstand some degree of cold weather. Although it is one of the hardier varieties of Californian Lilac it does need protection from cold, drying winds and is best suited to a warm, sheltered wall.
