Red Sedge
Carex Comans Red
This is a beautiful, dwarf variety of sedge with narrow, thread-like, reddish brown leaves that arch upwards and outwards as they mature. It has a compact, upright growth habit and forms a dense tuft of foliage with trailing, curly tips that’s tolerant of salt-laden air and will flourish in sun or shade. Perfect for the front of a moist border, or for growing in a small container on the patio, it becomes drought tolerant once established and can be planted in an aquatic situation providing the crown isn’t below the water level.
