This variety should be protected from cold, dry winds and early morning sun to avoid damage to emerging buds and flowers. It must be watered well during periods of dry weather to prevent it from drying out. We recommend applying a balanced liquid fertiliser in mid-spring and June and top-dressing annually with shredded bark or well rotted leaf mould. Any dead or damaged stems and straggling shoots can be pruned back lightly after flowering to improve the appearance of the plant.
