Scots Heather
Calluna vulgaris Sister Anne
This is a prostrate, hardy evergreen variety that will spread out horizontally or cascade down if planted on a slope. It has bright green foliage with a beautiful, silvery cast that darkens to coppery-bronze over the winter. Bursting with luscious growth in the spring and producing an abundance of urn-shaped, pale mauve flowers from July to September which compliment the bright foliage wonderfully, it’s great for using in the foreground of a border, lining walls or filling rocky nooks. We’d also recommend it for the rock garden where the highlights of its display are the late summer flowers. It requires good drainage to survive.
