Scots Heather
Calluna Vulgaris Cuprea
A vibrant, low growing, evergreen heather with distinctive, copper foliage that takes on a brilliant shade of warm bronze-red over the winter. Perfect for using in the foreground of a small border or as a foundation plant, it has a compact, densely-branched, mat-forming growth habit and bears masses of beautiful, urn-shaped, rosy to purplish-pink blooms on long racemes from August to October. Great for using in mass plantings, along walkways and in troughs or patio containers that have good drainage, it can be pruned after flowering to ensure a neat, compact shape is maintained. As it prefers rocky, unimproved soils do not be tempted to over-fertilise
