Pyramid Box
Buxus sempervirens Pyramid
Small leaved tightly grown evergreen box plants make fantastic topiary of all shapes. Our box topiary can be grown to any size, the dark green foliage is thick and present year round. Can be grown in most fertile soils but prefers slightly alkaline, well drained areas for most impressive growth. This plant can be kept in shape by clipping when needed, although it will not lose its compact appearance if left to its own devices. They look superb as centre pieces in planters and pots.

Garden Care:
When growing box plants you must ensure the ground they are in is never allowed to dry out. This may mean watering the plants on a regular basis during hot, dry summers. If being grown as a hedge plant, it should be pruned in July or August and then again in spring. Topiary needs to be trimmed regular in summer to maintain architectural shape. Leave the top middle shoot in place to allow the plant to grow taller. On both occasions you should also add a top-dressing of a well-balanced slow-release fertilizer around the base of the plants. When doing this be sure that it doesn’t come into contact with the leaves or stems.
