Barberry
Berberis thunbergii atropurpurea Red Chief
A compact, deciduous shrub which is very easy to grow, making it ideal for the novice gardener. It bears clusters of yellow flowers in March and April which are followed by red fruit. The leaves are dark bronze-red when young, turning to brilliant red foliage in autumn making it ideal for the middle of a mixed or shrub border.
