Spotted Laurel
Aucuba japonica Variegata
This is an excellent evergreen shrub that has large, leathery green leaves which are heavily speckled with yellow. It has a dense growth habit and is tolerant of both shade and atmospheric pollution. The striking gold variegation is perfect for using in shade gardens, particularly as the long leaves give a light enhancing effect. It can also be used to great effect as a background for contrasting foliage plants.
