Cruciferae
Aubrieta Argenteovariegata
A fabulous evergreen perennial which forms a compact mound of attractive, holly-shaped, green leaves with a clean and crisp creamy-white variegation. Perfect for incorporating into the rock garden, it produces masses of fabulous, rich violet-purple blooms which clothe the entire plant and contrast beautifully with the variegated foliage. It has hairy leaves to minimise water loss from the leaf surface, making it drought tolerant and looks great when used at the front of a mixed border or in a hanging basket with other, less hardy plants. Allow it to cascade over walls or other obstacles to add invaluable spring colour to the garden.
Position:
Prefers Full sun
Soil:
A poor to moderately nutritious, well-drained soil
Rate of Growth:
Average
Flowering Period:
April to May
Flower Colour:
Rich violet-purple
Other Features:
Combines well with winter flowering heathers (Ericas)

Garden Care:
Cut back quite hard by shearing after flowering has finished to maintain a neat, compact growth habit and to encourage a second flush of blooms. Incorporate ericaceous compost into the planting hole for best results, particularly when combining with Ericas. Please Note: Many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means that there is little or no top growth apparent between November and March. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in spring. In the dormant period, we may not have stocks of all varieties in all pot sizes and therefore reserve the right to supply 9cm pots instead of 1 or 2 litre plants and adjust the price down accordingly.
Eventual Height: 25cm
