False Goatsbeard
Astilbe Bressingham Beauty
Exquisite, gracefully arching, showy bright pink flower plumes are produced on tall, upright flowering stems in late July. These have a glowing, feathery form and sway in the slightest breeze, helping to add movement to the garden. It has a mound-forming growth habit with attractive, deeply cut mid-green leaves which are bronze-tinted and almost fern-like in appearance. Thriving in moist conditions, it is perfect for growing in the boggy ground near a natural pond or stream. The fluffy pyramids of flowers are also ideal for perking up partially shaded borders or growing in a container to add summer colour to a patio area

Make sure the soil always stays moist and water regularly if it’s being grown in a container. Large colonies can be lifted and divided in mid-spring if required. It benefits from a mulch of well-rotted garden compost in March. Please Note: Although all our perennials are advertised as being sold in 1 litre containers, they are sometimes stocked in 9cm pots instead (particularly during the winter). If you order perennials from us, we reserve the right to supply them in 9cm pots instead of 1 litre containers, at a price of £2.80 instead of £3.80. Between November and March many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means they are sold as a root, corm or bulb with no top growth. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in the spring.
