Splendens Beach Thrift
Armeria maritima rosea
Compact, rounded heads of bright, rosy-red, saucer-shaped flowers on slender, upright stalks from April to June. This is a dependable, tuft-forming evergreen perennial forming a dense blanket of narrow, grass-like leaves which remain looking good all year round. Perfect for growing along walkways or incorporating into rock gardens and herbaceous borders, it also holds its shape well making it suitable for using in toughs or containers on the patio. A long-flowering, ornamental variety whose tolerance of salt-laden air makes it suitable for growing near the coast. We’d recommend pinching out faded flowers immediately to encourage a second flush of colour.

Many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means that there is little or no top growth apparent between November and March. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in spring. In the dormant period, we may not have stocks of all varieties in all pot sizes and therefore reserve the right to supply 9cm pots instead of 1 or 2 litre plants and adjust the price down accordingly.
