Japanese Anemone
Anemone Queen Charlotte
Masses of large, semi-double, bowl-shaped, rich pink blooms with slightly ruffled petals and a bright golden-yellow centre are produced repeatedly from August to October. This is a majestic, clump-forming anemone with a graceful, upright branched growth habit and semi-evergreen, vine-like, bronzy, dark green leaves. The flowers are held high above the plant on long, stiff flowering stems and contrast beautifully with the fresh foliage. Perfect for adding a splash of colour to partially shaded areas of the garden, it looks lovely massed in a woodland setting or spotted into wild rock gardens. It also produces attractive cut flowers and makes a great choice for adding a splash of colour to a semi-shaded spot of the garden in late summer and autumn. Sometimes referred to as Konigin Charlotte, it is slow growing in the first year after planting, then rapidly forms a large colony once established

Garden Care:
It benefits from a mulch of well-rotted garden compost in spring and can be lifted and divided in March if required. Flowering stems may need to be staked in late summer, especially to keep the plant upright after heavy rain, and should be cut back to the ground in early November. Please Note: Although all our perennials are advertised as being sold in 1 litre containers, they are sometimes stocked in 9cm pots instead (particularly during the winter). If you order perennials from us, we reserve the right to supply them in 9cm pots instead of 1 litre containers, at a price of £2.80 instead of £3.80. Between November and March many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means they are sold as a root, corm or bulb with no top growth. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in the spring.
