Snowy Mespilus
Amelanchier Lamarckii
This is a showy shrub/small tree that bears masses of wide white flowers throughout spring. It is a deciduous variety with leaves opening coppery-red, turning to soft green in summer and then to shades of red, orange and yellow in autumn. The flowers are followed by edible black berries which contrast beautifully with the spectacular autumn foliage.

A neutral to acidic, fertile soil which is moist but well drained is preferred.

Garden Care:
If you wish to train this variety as a standard tree you should select the strongest straight stem and remove all of the laterals up to 1m from the ground in winter. If you wish to train it as a multi-stemmed tree you should cut the stems that are growing too close back to ground level.
