Bugle
Ajuga Burgundy Glow
This is a fully hardy, fast-growing, creeping evergreen perennial which forms a striking mat of attractively variegated, dark green and creamy-yellow leaves, tinged with deep violet-pink when young. It produces spike-like whorls of eye-catching, dark blue flowers from April to May and makes a great groundcover plant for growing in the shaded areas under the canopies of trees. Although it’s tolerant of dense shade, the foliage colour is more vivid if it receives some early morning sun. Perfect for rock gardens, as a border plant or in mass plantings on a slope to prevent erosion, it also looks stunning when grown in a container, with the foliage attractively draped over the sides of the pot. Lift and divide every few years if required

Very easy to care for. It can be lifted and divided every few years in late autumn or early spring if required. Please Note: Although all our perennials are advertised as being sold in 1 litre containers, they are sometimes stocked in 9cm pots instead (particularly during the winter). If you order perennials from us, we reserve the right to supply them in 9cm pots instead of 1 litre containers, at a price of £2.00 instead of £2.80. Between November and March many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means they are sold as a root, corm or bulb with no top growth. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in the spring.
