Carpet Bugle
Ajuga reptans Black Scallop
This is a striking, low maintenance groundcover perennial with very dark and glossy, scalloped burgundy foliage and deep blue flower spikes from March to June. It is a large-leaved variety with a short, spreading form that looks stunning when grown in a pot on the patio or used as an accent alongside lighter-coloured plants. Excellent for planting in groups to provide a colourful matt of groundcover, it’s also great in perennial borders, pots and mixed containers. It is tolerant of a wide range of soils and conditions but displays the best foliage colour when grown in full sun.

If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in spring. In the dormant period, we may not have stocks of all varieties in all pot sizes and therefore reserve the right to supply 9cm pots instead of 2 litre and adjust the price accordingly.
