African Lily
Agapanthus Headbourne Hybrids
This is a long-flowering, clump-forming hardy perennial with glossy, strap-like, mid-green leaves and clusters of divine, trumpet-shaped flowers which vary in colour from deep blue to white. These are borne on stiff, upright flowering stems producing a pleasing gradation of blues which can be used to great effect in flower arrangements. Perfect for growing as a specimen plant in a container on the patio, it also looks excellent when combined with pink flowering perennials in a sheltered border. An elegant, free flowering variety of African lily whose clumps can be lifted and divided every three to five years if required.

Incorporate lots of well-rotted organic matter into the backfill when planting. Apply generous well rotted organic mulch in early spring and keep well-watered during periods of dry weather. Please Note: Many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means that there is little or no top growth apparent between November and March. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in spring. In the dormant period, we may not have stocks of all varieties in all pot sizes and therefore reserve the right to supply 9cm pots instead of 2 litre and adjust the price accordingly.
