Japanese Maple
Acer Palmatum Dissectum
This is a compact, dome-shaped tree with fresh, soft green leaves that are finely cut and divided into nine slender lobes. These are produces on arching stems and take on brilliant shades of coppery-orange in the autumn. It is ideal for growing in a container to add architectural interest to the patio, providing the delicate foliage is protected from cold winds and frost. A charming, elegant tree with frothy foliage which is perfect for a sheltered spot under a larger tree or for using as a focal point in a small to medium sized garden.

A neutral to acidic, fertile soil which is moist but well drained is preferred.
