Paper Bark Maple
Acer Griseum
This is a spectacular, spreading ornamental tree with stunning, smooth cinnamon-coloured bark which emerges as the old, dark red bark peels and flakes away. It produces toothed, three-lobed, dark green leaves in the spring, before taking on rich autumn colours, turning the entire crown deep red and orange. It makes a perfect specimen tree for gardens of all sizes and looks most spectacular when grown in a large, open space. Although a young tree can take many years to fill out to specimen dimensions, its ornamental value and refined beauty makes it worth the wait.
