Did You Know?

We grow and keep the majority of our plants outside on the edge of the Staffordshire Moorlands, over 650 feet above sea level ensuring a hardy plant that starts off well when planted in your garden.

Some leaves on evergreen plants can be damaged in winter but in spring, new leaves will readily replace those damaged. This is quite normal on many evergreen varieties and is preferable to plants grown with excessive protection that show cold shock once planted out and establish less satisfactorily initially.

Many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means that there is little or no top growth apparent between November and March. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in spring.

Monarda 'Cambridge Scarlet' (2-3 litre pot)

Striking and unusual, rich scarlet-red blooms with beautiful, reddish-brown bracts appear in terminal whorls from July to September. This is a popular, aromatic perennial forming a bushy clump of attractive, mid-green leaves which smell of basil and mint and are used to fragrance Earl Grey tea.

It is quite vigorous once established and looks lovely when planted 'en masse' in bold groups next to Black Eyed Susan. Attracting bees and butterflies to the garden, it's strong, bold colour also makes it excellent for offsetting a group of purple-flowering perennials.

Winner of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, it will die back to the ground in winter before bursting back into life again during the spring.

Delivery Cost

The cost of delivery is dependent on the weight of what you'd like to order and which delivery zone you'd like it to be delivered to. To find out the delivery costs for your order, simply add all of the plants and products you'd like to order to your shopping cart (which will automatically calculate the total weight of your order for you) and select the delivery area you'd like it to be delivered to. The postage and packaging costs for your order will then be displayed in your shopping cart.

To give you a rough idea of what we charge to deliver to Zone 1 and Zone 2 (Mainland England, Wales and parts of Scotland), small light plants and gardening products are dispatched at a cost starting from £7.95 to deliver. Zone 3 starts from £20. However, if you purchase larger quantities of plants and their weight exceeds 20kg P&P costs increase progressively. If you order enough plants to fill a pallet our pallet rate is £65 to mainland England and Wales. For Zone 2 and Zone 3, our pallet rate is higher.

Some of the larger, more expensive garden buildings we offer are sold with free home delivery (this is always clearly indicated in the item description). If you're ordering a product with free home delivery, simply add it to your shopping cart. The delivery charge will automatically be set to zero. Please note, if your order includes non-free delivery products, then you will be charged postage for these.

Please note for large orders needing a pallet, the road access must be at least 10ft wide by 15ft high.
